Archived Projects

The Archived Projects page provides users with a centralized location to view and manage projects that have been archived. Projects moved to the archive are scheduled for permanent deletion after 30 days, which includes the loss of all associated data. This page enables users to review, restore, or permanently delete archived projects as needed.

Archiving Projects

When a project is archived, a confirmation dialog appears with a warning:

  • Warning Message: Users are notified that the archived project will be permanently deleted after 30 days, along with a reminder about data loss.
  • Confirmation Options: Users have the option to select Yes to proceed with archiving or No to cancel the operation.

The archived project then appears in the Archived Projects list, which includes columns for:

  • Project Name: The title or name of the archived project.
  • Archived Created: The date when the project was archived.
  • Archived By: The user who performed the archiving action.

Actions on Archived Projects

Within the Archived Projects list, users can perform the following actions on each project:

  1. Restore: This option allows users to move a project back to the active list, making it available for continued work and preventing its deletion. When restoring a project:

    • The project is removed from the archived list and returned to the active project view.
    • All associated data and settings are reinstated, allowing team members to resume work without losing progress.
    • Notifications may be sent to relevant team members informing them that the project has been reactivated.
    • Important: Restoring a project halts the 30-day deletion countdown, so it will not be permanently deleted unless re-archived.
  2. Permanently Delete: Users can choose to immediately delete the project, bypassing the 30-day deletion schedule. This action is irreversible and results in the loss of all project data.

Viewing Archived Projects

The Archived Projects list includes pagination controls, allowing users to navigate through multiple pages of archived projects if necessary. The list can be searched by project name for quick access to specific entries.

Benefits of Archiving

info
  • Data Management: Archiving projects helps keep the active project list organized, reducing clutter by moving completed or inactive projects out of view.
  • Data Security: Allows users to reconsider project deletion within the 30-day period, providing a buffer against accidental data loss.
  • Streamlined Access: Users can easily restore archived projects if the need arises, bringing them back to the active workflow without losing historical data.

Notes

  • Deletion Policy: Projects in the archive will be permanently deleted after 30 days, along with all associated data.
  • Permanent Deletion: This action is immediate and cannot be undone. Once deleted, the project and its data are irretrievable.
  • Regular Monitoring: Users should periodically review archived projects to ensure that any important data is restored before the deletion deadline.

For users looking to maintain a streamlined workflow, the Archived Projects feature is an essential tool for organizing and managing project data over time.
